Even with a new baby at home, Catherine Elizabeth Young, and little sleep coming to Chris and Liz Young, CY looked as sharp as ever on Friday afternoon.
The big 6'10" right-hander threw 3 hitless innings, walking 1 and striking out 3, in a 6-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at the Peoria Sports Complex.
Offensively, Scott Hairston sent the first pitch he saw from DBacks left-hander Doug Davis and launched it over the 385 sign in left center, his first HR of the spring. Chase Headley broke a 3-3 tie in the 7th inning with a sac fly, Will Venable followed with a 2-run single to finish the scoring.
Next up for San Diego, they will be in Surprise, AZ to take on the Texas Rangers. Greg Maddux is scheduled to go 3 innings as is Wil Ledezma.
