Padres still may add a starting pitcher

Are the Padres done tinkering with their roster? According to Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Tribune, GM Kevin Towers could still be on the prowl for a starting pitcher.

There haven't been any names thrown out, but watch for a possible trade that involved Padres' outfielder Brian Giles. There's already been talk this off-season that the Padres want to dump his salary for 2009, but with a partial no-trade clause, he'll have to a deal to certain teams.

I'm not saying that Giles is on his way out, but he could be a possible commodity to teams looking for batting average and a high on base percentage.
